Open endorsement of Mr Dave Crump:  5th Dan Master (Crown Tae Kwon Do Federation)

I have known Dave Crump in his professional capacity as a Crown Taekwondo coach for 4 years. During this time, in collaboration with the other black belt Masters, he has worked tirelessly to create a well constituted and efficiently run federation which has brought enormous benefits to a large number of adults and children from a wide variety of  backgrounds. The growth and development of the Club is, in no small measure, owing to his commitment to enlisting support for Taekwondo and his expertise in organising and delivering high quality coaching sessions.

Inherent in Dave's approach to Taekwondo classes is a fundamental interest in developing individuals, not only through improved fitness and flexibility but also in helping to shape their characters. Increased confidence, self-discipline and self-motivation all result from the success achieved within this martial art. Dave is intuitively adept at recognising a lack of self-esteem in people and in employing strategies to develop their self-belief and determination to improve their skills and performance. He sets extremely high yet attainable targets in his lessons and invariably expects good punctuality and attendance as well as excellent behaviour. Students never leave his coaching sessions without having received helpful advice and encouragement to improve.

Camaraderie and teamwork are strong features of his coaching programme and the content of his classes is carefully devised to ensure full participation by all those who attend. This inclusivity means that members of the Club across the age groups are able to work alongside each other within an atmosphere of co-operation and friendship. Dave possesses a wide range of leadership skills that enable him to manage and coach large numbers of people at a time. These include leading from the front and by example, first class communication and the delegation of responsibility with trust to lower belts. Dave's rapport with young people is especially impressive and, through his energy, capability and good humour is able to foster highly productive relationships with all of his students. As a result, his coaching expertise is under great demand in schools and countless children have derived benefit from his wise counsel and knowledge. However, the true hallmarks of Dave's coaching credentials are his infectious enthusiasm and boundless energy - he never appears to lose the passion to pass on all aspects of Taekwondo instruction to his students.

I have no reservations whatsoever in recommending Dave Crump for employment as a Taekwondo instructor.

As a former head teacher of three primary schools and a serving local authority School Improvement Partner and Ofsted inspector, I can highly recommend to you without reservation Master Dave and Crown Taekwondo Federation (CTF).

I have personally employed CTF Taekwondo at my school and found the instructors to be of the highest integrity and the instruction of outstanding quality.  I employed CTF as part of my school's after school extended services provision.  Classes were very well attended and all pupils made excellent progress in their Taekwondo training, rapidly advancing towards Black Belt.  Parents also spoke very highly of CTF and enjoyed the extra dimension Taekwondo added to their children's educational and personal development.  Many parents also enjoyed the added peace of mind of knowing that their children were learning an excellent form of self-defence, which is an invaluable life skill.

In addition to enhancing the extended provision available to my pupils, I found that CTF Taekwondo also had an extremely positive impact on children's self-confidence, self-esteem and general behaviour.  Through Taekwondo, children also learn how to listen, follow instructions and concentrate on what they are doing.  These skills transfer to all aspects of children's learning.  CTF Taekwondo also teaches children key principles that link closely to personal and social development and the Every Child Matters agenda.  These include courtesy, integrity, self-control and perseverance.  Above all, children learn how to stay healthy and keep fit in a safe, fun and engaging environment.

CTF Taekwondo instructors are all fully qualified, certified by CTF and trained to exacting standards.  They also hold enhanced CRB disclosures.  CTF has a named Child Protection Officer and follows the highest standards of health and safety.

As a school leader, I have found CTF Taekwondo to offer a highly professional, bespoke service which was flexible and responsive to the needs of my school.  Master Dave was also highly professional and had lots of ideas about how CTF Taekwondo could benefit my school, including self-defence classes for staff and parents.  I would also consider using CTF Taekwondo to enhance provision during teachers' PPA release time.

I highly recommend Master Dave and CTF Taekwondo and hope that more children get to benefit from this highly rewarding Olympic sport.
